The New School of Acting will now be offering kids and teen classes in addition to adult classes. On Saturday, February 7th there will be an Open House from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will be an opportunity for people to meet the entire faculty and find out about the program. The curriculum will include select principles of the Meisner Technique, Improvisation/Theater Games, Scene Work and Scene Nights for parents and friends. These fun-filled classes for kids and teens will build upon the basics of acting and help the emerging young actor develop skills using movement, improvisation, team work and scripted material. The class provides the student the opportunity to build confidence, self-awareness, communication skills and the ability to improve concentration while strengthening their imagination. The school is located in the city of Orange at 940 West Chapman Blvd., in the loft upstairs from the Art Angles Gallery. Contact the school at (714) 210-6454 to R.S.V.P for the Open House. Of course, the family is that of Henry II of England (including Eleanor of Aquitaine, Richard the Lionhearted and the future King John, among others); the invited guest is Philip Capet of France, and the holiday gathering takes place at Henry's castle of Chinon. No one's mind is on presents; rather, everyone is thinking of provinces -- who controls them, who gives up which in exchange for which concession, and so on. A merrier holiday gathering could hardly be imagined. Call 714-517-7798 for more information or visit insurgotheater.com for maps.
